What Is A Registry And How Does It Impact
On The Performance of Your Computer?
Essentially, a
Windows registry is the central database of your computer. Every
single change you make on your computer is recorded in the
registry.
When you switch on
and start up your computer, it is the registry that will
determine how your computer should operate, what settings and
application programs are available and how the computer's files
and system should be presented visually (display settings etc).
The longer you use
your computer, the higher the risk of encountering problems
in the registry...and in my case, 2 years of installing
programs, messing around with settings and leaving my PC on all
day meant there were clear reasons why programs crashed and I
kept getting weird and abrupt warnings from Windows.

To get an
idea of the likelihood of your PC problems
being related to a messed up registry,
here's some pointers:
• Your computer
starts up and shuts down very slowly.
• Your computer
crashes often by freezing the entire system and
giving you blue screens, or slow trailing
images.
• Some programs
may not open when you click on them. Or at best,
they take a long time to do so.
• Error
messages, particulary the ones that relate to
failed applications, ddl files, missing files
and other weird codes that seem like a foriegn
language. |

What Is The
Best Fix For Registry Problems?
The easiest and
safest way to detect and repair registry problems is to use an
automated Windows registry repair tool.
Such specialist
tools are widely available online but vary in effectiveness and
price, features and ease of use. A good software will
allow you to take full control of the repair process and, with
one simple click, you can scan and fix all known errors inside
the registry on your machine so that your PC will run
faster and smoother like the day it was bought.
A good rule of
thumb is the better the scanner, the better chance it will have
of finding all current errors on your machine. Some registry
cleaners are unable to find all errors and can therefore be a
waste of money.
We choose to
review Registry
Fix because, compared to similar tools, it seems to tick all the
right boxes in terms of technical specs, support and overall
great word of mouth and personal recommendation online.
What Does Registry Fix Do?
Unlike it's
counter parts and competitions, registry fix software
scans your PC based on the level of deep scan you set it at
prior to running the scan.
Once the scan in
complete, you'll get at list of detailed errors found. This
feature doesn't always come included for many other registry
repair programs we have tested.
Then, it's simply a case of running the auto repair function to clean up the errors.
These errors could be corrupt files that are no longer needed, right through to major missing components which need to be relocated and moved to keep your PC "thinking" with a clear head, to put it simply.
Once the repair process is complete, you should notice a visible increase in your
computer's performance, namely the speed in which programs load and close, including the windows startup,
backup and shut down process in some cases.
Registry Fix
- The Limitations
There is
no scheduler feature which allows
you to manually schedule when the software will scan your PC.
This wasn't enough
to sway our vote however, as in reality the registry repair
process does not need to be a military operation, with precise
schedules. Further,
Registry Fix is so effective at repairing the registry that
there is no need for you to run it on a frequent schedule.
There
is no online FAQ or knowledge base available for Registry Fix at
this time, but in the unlikely cases where you experience
problems, you'll find that the support people are very
responsive.
Compare
Registry Fix With Other Similar Products - Is It Really The Top
One In The Market?
After
we ran the
free scan, Registry Fix found a shocking amount of
corrupt files, much more than we had imagined or have even heard
about before. We then used
the full download version to clean up the registry and, as we hoped,
Registry Fix successfully fixed all errors, leaving our old
machine running much more smoothly and no DLL errors or invalid
file warnings to be seen.
What
we particularly liked about Registry Fix was the level of
control you have over the entire cleanup process. This is
accomplished by a series of task managers, all with
individual roles.
For example,
there is a "Full Registry Backup Manager" which is
undoubtedly the most vital part of the software, which acts
as a safety net so that if something goes wrong during the
registry repair process, you will always have the most
recent and fully functioning version of the registry.

The
"System Startup Manager" was a useful tool, which allows you
to set the software to scan any programs that have been set
to automatically start when you first turn on your computer.
This alone allowed us to clean up and speed up the entire
boosting process that previously took over 10 minutes with
our machine.
One of the
strongest convenience features with Registry Fix is that you
can easily set it to run at the exact moment that your PC
starts, which is great if you've forgotten to run it the
previous day for example.
The scanning log is a feature not commonly found in
other similar priced tools. This is a great feature
which logs your scans so that you know what previous errors
are recurring, and what exactly the software is doing for
it's money.
Along with the
clean and user friendly interface and the added bonus
feature of a registry optimizer (to help further boost your
PC's performance), this particular software stands out above
its counterparts in this fierce market place of registry
repair software.
Should you need support, Registry Fix offers full email
customer service as well as a help file within the
application itself. We did a test
support email (pretending to have a problem) and a member of
support responded via email within 24 hours, which is more
than we can say for similar softwares in the
marketplace.
